SFTP Connection Guide

SFTP stands for Secure File Transfer Protocol. It is a protocol that allows you to transfer files to a server in a secure manner. Depending on which operating system you use, you will likely need to install SFTP software. See "Connection Instructions" for your particular operating system.

*** Please note that command line (terminal or SSH) access is not allowed on this server. ***

Before you begin...

To configure an SFTP connection, you will need:

  1. Your HSU User Name
  2. The Server Address

  1. Your HSU User Name is your campus e-mail address before the @ symbol.

If you do not know your HSU User Name, you may find it by logging in to Account Center (formerly known as WebReg) and clicking "Personal Information." You can also call the Help Desk at 826-4357.

  2. The Server Address is:

    users.humboldt.edu
