Tech Guides :: Connection :: Installing Security Certificate

If you are using Internet Explorer/Outlook on Macintosh

  1. Click this link to Download the security certificate.
  2. A message will be displayed explaining what a Certificate Authority does. Click View Certificate Authority.

  3. Information about the security certificate is displayed. Click to select both check boxes to verify that the certificate is not a forgery, and that you trust the issuer to verify Internet security. Click Accept.

  4. You will be prompted to define a certificate password. Type your password in the text box and click OK. Re-enter your password at the next prompt, and click OK again.

  5. A prompt will appear asking for the password you just entered so that your browser can add the security certificate. Type your password in the space provided, and then click OK.

  6. A message is displayed indicating that the Certificate Authority has been added successfully. Click OK to complete the process.

Every time you use Internet Explorer to access a secure website, you will be asked for your certificate password, unless you add the HSU Certificate Authority to your Macintosh Keychain.

Follow the setup instructions for Safari on Macintosh to add the certificate to the keychain.
