Tech Guides :: Connection :: Installing Security Certificate

If you are using Safari on Macintosh:

  1. Click this link to Download the security certificate. The certificate will be displayed in your browser. Steps 2 through 4 walk you through saving the certificate to your Desktop.
  2. Hold the CTRL key down and click to save the file. Click to select Save Page As.
  3. The Save As file name should appear as HSU-CA.cer. Select to save the file to the Desktop, and then click Save as shown below.

  4. You will be asked if you want to append an extension to the file. Click Don't append and the file will be saved to the Desktop.

  5. Double-click the HSU-CA.cer icon to open the downloaded file on your Desktop.
  6. At the Add Certificates dialog box, click to access the available options in the Keychain input box. Click to select X509Anchors, and then click OK.

  7. At the Authenticate dialog, type your password and click OK. The certificate has now been installed. However, you must restart your computer for the certificate to take affect.

If you want to view the x509 keychain, continue with the optional steps below.

  1. From the Keychain Access File menu, click to select Add Keychain.
  2. Navigate to System/Library/Keychains by double-clicking your local harddrive, System, Library and then Keychains.
  3. Click to select X509Anchors and then click Open. You should now be able to view the X509 Anchors, which includes the HSU certificate, using Show Keychains.
