Microsoft Office 2007

Microsoft Office 2007 is the latest version of Microsoft’s desktop productivity software suite. Its core components include:
• Microsoft Word: Word processor
• Microsoft Excel: Spreadsheet program
• Microsoft Access: Database program
• Microsoft Outlook: Email client with calendar and contact management
• Microsoft PowerPoint: Presentation program

As of summer session 2007, all Open Access Computing labs on campus are equipped with Office 2007.

File Extensions

NOTE: The default file format for Office 2007 is incompatible with older versions of Office, including Office 2003. Use the "Save As" option to save in the older format. To read or create documents in the new format with older version of Office you must download and install the converter pack from Microsoft. Microsoft is still creating the converter pack for Macs. This site will be updated when it is ready.

Where to Get a Copy

As of summer session 2007, all Open Access Computing labs on campus are equipped with Office 2007. Open Access Computing labs are available for use by all current HSU students, staff and faculty. See the list of available labs.

Students

HSU students may purchase a license to use specified Microsoft products at a discounted price from the HSU Bookstore. For more information and pricing, please contact the HSU Bookstore at (707) 826-5848.

Faculty and Staff

In your home

The Microsoft Faculty/Staff Work at Home Agreement is a program designed to allow faculty and staff to use the Microsoft products they use at work, at home. The license portion of the cost of this program is covered by the CSU's agreement with Microsoft. Faculty and Staff may purchase their media through the Bookstore. For more information and pricing, please contact the HSU Bookstore at (707) 826-5848.

For staff and faculty at work, please contact your college or department ITC Office for information on obtaining Office 2007 for your office.
