Composing messages
You can compose your message using either HTML or plain text formatting. The default editor is plain text.
- HTML formatting. This is a rich-text editor. Messages created using HTML can have text formatting, numbering, bullets, colored background, tables, and links, which can enhance the appearance of a message. You can set the default font settings, including style, size and color from the Preferences > General tab.
- Plain Text formatting. This produces text with no style or formatting. Any computer can read this type of message. All email clients can read messages sent in the plain text format.
In order to change your default view, go to Preferences > Composing and set the Compose field accordingly.
Note: To quickly change the format for this message only, click Options on the Compose toolbar and select either HTML or Plain Text.
