Course goals: To become familiar with the current "hot topics" in this exciting and dynamic field, including aspects of sexual selection, life history theory and the link between individual behavior and population ecology.
My ultimate goal for the class is to get you all turned on to this lively and invigorating field so much that you can not put it down for the rest of your lives. So you will join one of the societies and keep reading as the topics continue to evolve. And perhaps, to better enable you to design and interpret data from your own studies so they make a valuable contribution to the field. By reading in and around these topics you will get a feel for current angles, current vocabulary and current innovations. If you are on top of the current "trends" you will have a better chance of making a valuable contribution. |
