Professor Estrada is the adviser for the Osprey Magazine. He teaches Mass Media and Popular Arts, Magazine Writing, Editing and other journalism courses.

Professor Estrada worked for more than ten years as a reporter, arts critic and columnist for the Oakland Tribune. He won a Maggie Award for Media Excellence in 1983. His book, "As Flip As I Want to Be: Ruminations on the Filipino American Experience," was released in March 2007. He is also the author of "I Have Tasted the Sweet Mangoes of Cebu," which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in Miscellaneous Non-Fiction in 2004.

He received a Ph.D from the University of Texas, Austin, an M.A. from Ohio State University and a B.A. from U.C. Berkeley.
