Asst. Professor Victoria Sama teaches Video Production, TV News Workshop, Public Affairs Video Production, Responsibility in Mass Communication, Law in Mass Communication, Introduction to Mass Communication, Analyzing Mass Media Messages and Beginning Reporting courses.
She joined the Journalism Department in August 2006 after teaching at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Prior to her academic career, she was a journalist at Cable News Network for 15 years where she was a CNN International news producer, CNN Headline News writer, copy editor, and CNN Spanish field producer in Colombia covering cocaine cartels, guerrilla wars and violent presidential elections. She earned a bachelor's degree from Montclair State College and holds a master's degree in Communication Research from the University of Colorado. From time to time, she writes freelance magazine stories about the outdoors. Her favorite subject--cycling. When she is out of class you can find her riding her bicycle.
