VIDEO and RADIO PRODUCTION

Students in the broadcast news emphasis take courses such as JMC 156 Introduction to Video Production, where they produce public service annoucements and news packages for local television stations.

In the spring 2007, the advanced broadcast class JMC 336 Public Affairs Video Production, won a CSU Media Arts Festival award for "Insight," a television news magazine program produced by our broadcast journalism students.

Broadcast journalism students learn radio production skills in JMC 154 Introduction to Radio Production and can be a disc jockey on the student radio station KRFH.
Students interested in video production should contact HSU Asst. Prof. Victoria Sama, who is a former CNN producer with more than 15 years of professional journalism experience.
