Placing Out of Developmental Mathematics Using ALEKS
If your your ELM score is less than 50, then your HSU Math Code will be 10, 20 or 30 and you will be placed into either two or one semesters of developmental mathematics courses. These courses are designed to prepare you for university level math and do not count toward your bachelor's degree. Failure to complete prescribed developmental courses during your first year can result in your being dis-enrolled from the university!
You can raise your Math Code and reduce the number of developmental courses you have to take (and therefore save time and money) by passing the ALEKS Intermediate Algebra Assessment when you come to HOP.
