Student Use Policy
Smart
Classrooms are equipped with instructional technology by
Instructional Media Services (IMS). Academic Affairs funds IMS for the
purpose
of supporting HSU faculty in their classroom instruction.
Periodically, faculty may require students to
use this technology to complete required coursework. Students may do so
if they
meet the following criteria:
- Student
is assigned work requiring use of Smart Classroom technology
- Student
use is for FTES generating coursework
- Student
has followed appropriate procedures for gaining access to Smart
Classroom Technology
- Student
has no previous improprieties of Student Use Procedures
Procedure for Student Access to Smart Classroom Technology
These procedures must be followed each time a student
proposes to
use Smart Classroom equipment and for each room to be used. These
procedures
must be completed at least 48 hours prior to Smart Classroom use:
- Student
must acquire and properly complete a Smart Classroom
Student Use Authorization form (this is a pdf form: fill-in, print, sign,
and turn in at GH 221). Hard copy versions are also available at the Business
and Economics Office (SH111) or Media
Distribution (GH221).
- Student
must arrange for and complete orientation/training for appropriate use
of Smart Classroom technology – group orientations are available also
(ext.3177)
- Student
must arrange to acquire access key for equipment console (Media
Distribution - GH221 or ext. 3166)
- Student
must return key by 9:00 a.m. the following morning
Additional Information About Student Use of
Smart
Classroom Technology
These procedures allow students the opportunity
to use
Smart Classroom technology providing policy and procedures are
followed.
- Non-instructional Club or other
non-instructional use of
Smart Classroom equipment is handled in the same manner as above,
however, rental fees are charged for the equipment used. Please see the rental price list and use the
“on-campus” rate for Smart Classroom equipment usage.
- Book Smart Classroom keys for student/club
use to responsible faculty member.
