Converting PowerPoints to the Lesson module can be useful for students who have trouble downloading documents or for online courses and presentations.
Converting PowerPoint to Lesson
Start by opening up Moodle and enter into the course you wish to add a lesson to.
- Turn Editing On.
- Choose the block within the course you wish the Lesson to be in. Click on the drop down box labeled Add an activity.. to the right of the desired section. Choose Lesson.
- Customize your lesson; give it a name and set desired settings. For more information regarding this, click here to see the Lesson Manual. Click Save changes to move on.
- You will see text that says, "What would you like to do first?" Choose Import PowerPoint. If you get an error message, your PowerPoint may be too big. Click on the following links for more information regarding compressing files and images.
- Browse for your PowerPoint file, and upload.
- You will want to go through each slide and check to see if it is in the desired format. Often this converter will tend to jumble things up and occasionally leave things out completely. Thus, it is advisible to proof read your lesson before releasing it to the students.
- Don't forget to save your changes!
