Trans Students at HSU--Statement of Concerns

Sometime - April 2003
Trans students experienced a wide range of things including verbal harassment, physical assault and less than professional behavior from some faculty and administration.
In most cases, the person involved addressed the appropriate faculty or administrator. While some did address the problem, many did not. One trans person in particular met with various administrators many times, but no action has been taken on the issues brought up.
One high level administrator two trans people (one on one occasion and another the administrator perceived as gay or lesbian on another occasion) that the only solution that would come from the university is assistance transferring to a different school.

April - July 2003
Trans people meet to take a common course of action. The result is the statement presented to administrators.

July 14, 2003
Statement of Concerns sent to the administration.
On an related matter which one trans person is involved, The California Postsecondary Educational Consortium's administrative decision is that HSU is not complying with guidelines to participate in state educational programs.
