The mission of the Humboldt State University Natural History
Museum, through its collections, exhibits, and programs, is to
inspire in North Coast residents and visitors of all ages an understanding
and appreciation of the dynamic natural world and to provide a learning
laboratory for Humboldt State University students.

HSU closed the Museum on September 1, 2009 due to
budgetary constraints.

is Now Open for School Field Trips
The Natural History Museum is offering science-standard
based, teacher-led and
docent-led museum programs for grades K - 4 and up.

Chemistry
and Physics Discovery Day is Coming!

The HSU Departments of Chemistry and Physics host
a drop-in, interactive workshop in physical science for children ages
7 to 14. Children have the opportunity to engage in discovery-based, hands-on
experiments. Kids can probe the chemical and physical properties of matter
& energy at a variety of stations staffed by students in HSU's Elementary
Education program.
