I. Prerequisite Points--------55 Total
This is the area you can make the biggest point difference. If you have over 5 units of grade “C” in your courses, retake the course with the most units if you have not already. If you have retaken your course(s) with “C” grades, the next step is to retake a “B” course. This will increase your GPA. However, do the math! If you are at the low end of a point category (for example 3.3-3.69 is 45 points) and you have 3.3, taking a course over with a “B” grade will not increase your points.
II. Overall GPA--------15 Total
Increasing your overall GPA is the hardest to do. This is a cumulative effort of all your college work. Therefore, all subsequent better grades will increase this, but not by much.
III. TEAS Score-------20 Total
To increase your score, retake the TEAS for the second time if you have not already. You can buy the study guide either at the HSU Bookstore or on-line at atitesting.com. You can improve your score significantly by using the study guide or, if one area is weaker, you may wish to receive tutoring in that area prior to retaking the exam.

Remember every point counts! You can obtain experience through volunteer work. Local hospitals, clinics, retirement facilities, childcare facilities or schools are good places to start. You must have experience with direct patient care.
V. Foreign Language Competency----5 Total
