Humboats at the Foot of F
From atop the historic Vance Hotel, this slides provides an elevated view down to the foot of F street, with Indian Island in the background. Humboats is visible on the left side of the street, and several sail craft are to be observed in the bay.
Future City plans call for a Boardwalk on the Bay from here at F street west to the foot of C, near the Small Boat Basin. Some sort of pedestrian plaza and performance area is also slated for the foot of F here, acting as the northern entrance to this Boardwalk.
To accommodate increased pedestrian traffic, future developments should widen the sidewalk in this area, especially between F and G where the Waterfront Drive and Trail extension would tie into First street.
The segment of the Waterfront Trail between Old Town and the Adorni Center would facilitate the flow of pedestrians between these two areas, especially during cultural events such as Blues by the Bay, the Dizzieland Jazz Festival, and Festival on the Bay.
