Forms Tips/Techniques

Keep your document as simple as possible. Do not use lots of font changes. If you need to change font size, use the Format ->Font ->Relative Size ->(Fine, Small, Large, Very Large, Extra Large) option in WordPerfect.

Use TAB stops instead of the spacebar for alignment. Set Tab stops sparingly, use the minimum necessary.

Revision Dates should always be fixed, NOT date code (which changes the date automatically to the current date).

Use Arial or Times New Roman (True Type fonts).

Fill in the blanks should be tables with lines showing or not showing. Avoid using "Text boxes".

Minimum margins, .50 top, left, right and .7 for the bottom.

Ctrl+home on Excel spreadsheets before saving (check navigation, freeze panes, splits, etc.).

When you have a 2+ page form in Excel, use separate sheets in the workbook for each page.

Use the following standard for document description and revision date at the bottom or last page of a form. If you are using WordPerfect, select the line and change the font (Format ->Font ->Relative Size ->Small).

Form124.wpd/office name
Revised: Date text (NOT code)
