The Faculty

There are currently fifteen faculty members in the Department of Psychology. The faculty represent a range of disciplines within psychology that provide for a comprehensive curriculum in both undergraduate and graduate majors in psychology.

The faculty members in the Department of Psychology provide expert instruction, motivate students to be active learners, and assist students to develop an appreciation and enthusiasm about course content and the study of psychology. The high quality of instruction provided by faculty in the Department of Psychology can also be recognized by the many undergraduate students who continue on to PhD and MA programs in psychology at major universities. Some of these students are now faculty members in departments of psychology at universities and colleges around the country, as well as employed as psychologists in clinical and research settings.

The strong research emphasis in many of the courses is consistent with the scientist-practitioner model of psychology. Many of the faculty members in the Department of Psychology provide undergraduate students with opportunities to be involved and assist in their research studies. In some cases, students take a major role in these studies, presenting papers at regional and national psychology conferences, as well as co-authors of published research studies.
