Seat Availability Notification by Email (SANE)Seat Availability Notification by Email (SANE) will notify students when a seat becomes available in a closed course(s) during web registration. When the student attempts to register in a course that is closed, the course will appear on the registration webpage under Registration Errors. To get notified when seats become available, click the Notify Me button to the left of the CRN. An Information window will pop up showing the email address where notification will be sent. Email addresses can be changed by going to “UPDATE EMAIL ADDRESSES” link. An email message will be sent when seats become available. It is important for the student to check his/her email account and then return to web registration to register for the class as soon as possible. Receiving the email notification does NOT register the student in the course. When the student returns to web registration, if the course has closed, SANE will notify the student again of any available seats. SANE will also notify the student if seats become available in other sections of the courses that he/she has selected. If the student does not attempt to register for the sections listed in the SANE email message, the student will receive no further notification regarding available seats. If a student registers for a course and wants to be notified when seats become available in other sections of the same course, click the Notify Me button to the left of the CRN in web registration. SANE will send the student an email message when seats become available. Courses which require instructor and/or department approval, do not have a SANE notification button. Such courses will require the student to get instructor and/or department approval in the form of a Magic Number. After the first week of classes the SANE notification system will be turned off because a Magic Number is required to add any course. |
