IV. Approval of Minutes

10 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstaining.
V. General Forum
John Wu and Curt Barnes are here today for the new business of tabling and John is here for possibly approving a new constitution.
VI. Executive Board Reports
A. President : had to fill out paperwork. During representative and committee reports today, please hold questions until general discussion at the end. The reasoning for this is to allow people to hear what’s going on better. I suggest writing down on the back of your quarter-sheets if you have any questions, so you can remember them for later.
B. Vice-President : took stuff to rose from the RHA office today, trying to get constitution stuff down so we can add some new councils (milc, wellness)
C. Secretary : I’m alive, the end.
D. Treasurer : We had a BoF meeting this past Friday. It went pretty well, and only one person didn’t show up(Canyon). Our next meeting was supposed to be this Friday, but that’s NRAP so it’ll be next Friday instead.
E. NCC : Nothing to report.
VII. Representative & Committee Reports
A. RPB (Janine proxy) We allocated a lot of money to haunted jgc-$255? Janine finished buying candy today during 1-1 with Leticia. Once HJGC is done, we’ll move on to other programming. Fridays 3:30 Moonstone=ResNews committee! It’s kind of a big deal, so you should go.
B. ROBOT (Porchee proxy) VGC was this past Saturday. Pizza was gone fast, TONS of people showed up. It was exciting!!
C. ROCC : We didn’t meet last week. Still working on Expressions of Oppression.
D. NAKED :did a lot of stuff in regards to programs. Ryan left early before listserv was solidified. Allocated our budget! It’s bigger than the manor’s, apparently. We have one program that’s set up for December: a showing of “Sicko”, about inequalities in the healthcare system in the United States.
E. ResLife :NRAP is this coming weekend. We will be presenting last year’s masturbation program.
F. NRHH :Worked on Haunted JGC Event, discussed the Battle of the Brains event which has been postponed until further notice. OTM nominations are due by Oct.31st at 11:59p.m., and NRHH Fall Induction nominations are due November 16th at 11:59p.m.-send your nominations to nrhh@humboldt.edu
G. Creekview :( drew me pictures! I <3 the invisible chinchilla. ^^) Finalized Haunted JGC budget, discussed future events. Our poster-making party failed. Sad day.
H. Canyon – no rep. “Canyon’s the new manor?”(James) Nancy proxies, saying that they went and got stuff for Haunted JGC.
I. Hill :The Hill Social that we had went wekk. We’re working on Haunted JGC, and possibly planning a dance?
J. Cypress :We are moving the Sex Outside the Box program to 2nd semester and combining it with the Act to End Sexualized Violence event. We discussed getting Cypress t-shirts and are waiting to hear back about estimated cost for them. We also talked about Haunted JGC stuff.
K. Manor :D idn’t do much at the last meeting…planning on doing manor final’s packs(which will be done in garbage bags)
L. AS – not here…
M. UC Board of Directors :We met with Burt Nordstrom last Thursday. Porchee had to keep herself from falling asleep(kinda boring…), and Burt was a little late. We almost took his keys.
N. Alcohol and other drug – Janine responded to the two emails that were sent to us. Haven’t heard back yet.
O. SHAC – hasn’t met. There’s another person interested in SHAC stuff.
P. Rec Center – don’t have a rep, but we got an email about it…
Q. Dining Committee : BIG report, yays. First off, we’re getting two new soup canisters for the third floor of the J. We’re planning on having 2 veg soups and 2 meat/non-veg soups. They’re also going to have 2 shelves of lean cuisine foods and 2 shelves of Amy’s foods, as we have switched to some new servers that offer more variety (apparently, our old suppliers only had 4 kinds of Lean Cuisine stuff and the new people have over 20). We discussed the 5-week cycle that the J runs on in meal planning, and how the cycles are altered to experiment with recipes. We also learned about issues that are going on with local organic farmers, including aphid and worm problems that caused the J to stop purchasing items such as broccoli. The idea of concept-breakers was brought up, with the strawberry shortcake at the beginning of the year and last year’s sandwich day, unbirthday cake, and cupcakes. Nancy and Jannah suggested having a little heart or other symbol to denote “healthy” items being served. We discussed the problems that have been going on between our councils and catering, and it was suggested that 1)people pick up their food EXACTLY for the time it was ordered, that the person ordering and a catering person go over the list together TWICE(once when it’s being ordered, once when the food is getting picked up), and reminding that the workers in the J close at 6:30p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. If you are hosting an event on one of those days after 6:30, you might consider ordering from another source(Blue Max Pizza, for example) or picking up the food at 6:30(or whenever before that you have it written for pick-up) and then reheating it when it gets closer to your event time. It is hard for people who work in the J to wait for you, as they also have very busy lives. The cupboard is going to be worked on during Winter Break(a wall being knocked down to open up a new room), and the kitchen of the J is going to get a new linoleum floor. For Halloween, there are going to be two contests: pumpkin carving, and a costume contest. Bring up your carved pumpkins to the J and/or show up in costume. For the costume contest, someone will take your picture and everyone’s pictures will be voted on later that night.
R. Publicist (1) Micaela’s not here…she now has office hours, though.
Lynn wants to know what NAKED wanted on their flyers.
S. Advisors Nick: Dialogue on Race starts this week. Still wants to dye his hair black. Can’t find his white tension rod(…? He and Ryan, playing off each other)
Leticia: POTOWOT is going on this Friday. 130pm(we leave at 2). Renting a bus this week because we’re hoping for a big turnout. Going to be more educational this week, and then doing service, then coming back
Thursday, Nov8th-Tunnel of Oppression. We need actors and tour guides
Jan.26th, 2008 mini conference for all Exec council meetings. That weekend’s also Leti’s
VIII. Old Business Ryan moves, calvin seconds. 10 in favor, 1 opposed, 2 abstaining.
a. AS rep—Who’s interested? Ravin said she was supposedly interested, but we don’t know if it’s this week or next. Could be why she’s not here.
b. HSU Makes Peta2’s second annual ‘Most vegetarian-friendly colleges’ list: Go vote. Check the royal flush for details.
c. Student Rec Center Appointment: Linda Pereira sent Leticia an email about needing a rep from the student rec center.
Janine: do they have a date? I’m interested.
Leticia: I think they want to get everyone together and decide on a date everyone can go to.
IX. New Business calvin, lynn. 9 in favor, 1 opposed, 1 abstaining.
a. Campus Crusade tabling request
Hi, I’m John and this is Curt! We’re from Campus Crusade and Late Night with Jesus Bible Study. We’re planning on having a day for cleaning peoples’ rooms. If someone wants to get their room cleaned for free by friendly people, they will give us their phone number, and on our cleaning day we will call them and ask if that time is alright for us to go clean their room(the resident needs to be in the room during the cleaning).
We want to table Nov. 7-9th in the J for Dinner, and would clean that following Monday(Veterans’ day).
Nick: what’s your philosophy on this? John: we want to be a blessing to others. Nick: do you use this as a recruiting tool? John: Usually, no. If they want to talk to us about it, we’ll talk to them about it. Janine: As VP and in charge of tabling matters, there’s no time conflict with it.
lynn moves to vote, calvin seconds. 9 in favor, 0 opposed, 2 abstain. We’ll see them in the J for dinner!! 
b. RHA Workshop day – planned for the 26th. Janine: during our exec board meeting, we talked about possible workshops that we’d be putting on, including how to write OTMs, etc. Also trying to get the Service Learning Center to do a presentation, and exec board peeps to do stuff. Trying to make it fun and not boring, but that kinda depends on the people. Jan. 26th, Saturday, will probably be about half a day. Attendance is mandatory/strongly advised. We’re telling you this far in advance in hopes that everyone can mark off that date.
c. NAKED for Mental Health Constitution James: let’s read from it!
Janine moves to put into discussion, Ryan seconds.
Leticia: Visitors? Clarified more to be like how ROBOT has off-campus people, and people who are only there for one or so meetings. Residents don’t have voting rights, only members do? Ryan: residents DO have voting rights. Leti: so what defines a member? Ryan: all residents are members.
Does anyone from last year remember anything that needed to be changed?
Nicole brought up representatives, but instead of always needing to re-ratify to include new reps was to already have it in the constitution.
ROCC and ROBOT are both not in it.
James: does Dining Committee need to be included? Jannah and Nicole: No.
Leticia: brought up something about quorum. Change it to accommodate the number of reps and guests needed (50% of exec board is 2, half of reps is 6, so you’d have to have 8 total plus 2 guests.) Also, treasurer and secretary positions don’t mention BoF or BoA (Janine). Ryan says he will work on it, then bring it back to the next meeting.
d. Wellness Council Constitution (moved to be right after campus crusade tabling) Wellness council has been worked on for a long time. We would do health and wellness events, did stuff at the health and wellness fair, got some ideas for programs (ie painting your hand and doing a big poster with other hands saying you’d abstain from drugs). We’re having a bbq in the spring with the alumni, and we would like to invite RHA to the bbq to have us ratify the constitution. It will probably be at Patrick’s Point. Porchee: If you want to be a council, you’d have to be open to ALL residents, and not just Tan Oak. Would you be willing to move to another location in the J, as it would be more difficult for people to access Tan Oak? Tan Oak is more convenient, but John will ask. Nancy: as long as someone’s supervising, the lounge door of Tan Oak CAN be propped so people can get in. Nancy: how long does it take to ratify a constitution? Janine: 3 weeks.
X. General Discussion
-Question about the organic products for Dining Committee. Would the price be adjusted to match the items, as opposed to inorganic items? Jannah doesn’t know. Can Janine email her the question so she can ask Ron at Dining Committee this week? Janine: Yes.
-For becoming an AS rep, they just need to go to the office to get the paperwork and submit it, and then there’ll be an interview with prez and then AS. Janine: there also needs to be a recommendation, I think.
XI. Announcements
Nancy: I forgot to add NRHH fall induction nominations due Nov. 16th, 11:59p.m. (send to nrhh@humboldt.edu)
Jannah: dining committee this week. 11am-noon, Ron’s office.
Janine: prize for best area room for haunted jgc-ice cream social! Go down to the info desk and vote!
Ian: Thurs-Saturday is the Humboldt Circus, $5, adult content. I think tickets are being sold through the bookstore, and there’s apparently an 8-ft surprise? Janine: what, James in heels? (Oh noes! Come find out, I guess.)
Lynn: Come see Urinetown, this week Thursday-Saturday
James: we were talking about our second event, for World AIDS day, in our exec board meeting on Friday. Nick then explains the idea of an AIDS quilt, paper prayers. James talks about doing an AIDS walk, as well. In order to do the quilting thing, we’d need people who can sew.
Tiffanie: would that be an organized aids walk, or just a demonstration? There was something in eureka last year that was supposed to be organized, but it didn’t really seemed like it. Nick: probably join up with an organized group
Lynn: the 1st is a Saturday. Try to do a luminaria for it?
Janine: Luminarias might not work with housing policy.
Lynn: what if we did it at a park?
Janine: we would still have to be careful…there are always a couple that catch on fire.

Motion to adjorn?
Ryan motions, Tiffanie seconds. 10 in favor, 1 opposed, 2 abstaining. Adjourned at 7:01p.m.

B. Vice President – Tired!! Had a nice 1-on-1 with Leticia, got new crates for the RHA office. Brainstorming on stuff for the exec board meeting.
C. Secretary – Got my psych midterm back, finally! Yay. I still only have information from Cypress. Please go to your councils and have your secretaries email me, rha@humboldt.edu. Also please write down the name of your council’s secretary on your ¼ sheet so I can try to contact them.
D. Treasurer – Scheduled BoF meetings for Fridays at 7:30p.m. in Klamath. We still have $3555 in unallocated.
E. NCC – no report.
VII. Representatives and Committee Reports
A. RPB – (Proxy: Ravin) ResNews: meetings will be on Friday, time TBA. Someone volunteered to head it. We have 1 editor and 1 director so far. Allocated $1000 to ROBOT for video games, drafted a mission statement(RPB strives to create an enjoyable, educational, and social environment through the planning and/or funding of large-scale programs in the residence halls.) The Haunted JGC is on October 31st, and there’s a mixer who has expressed interest in being a dj for the event. Also gave money to NRHH.
B. ROBOT – (Proxy: Ravin) Our Video Game Competition is THIS SATURDAY, Oct. 27th. Free pizza, and prizes, and video games all over the place! Negotiating with Rendezvous on using our one free day-a-semester on pool and arcade games.
C. ROCC/Diversity Advocate – Expressions of Oppression has posters up(maybe flyers, as well) and they are awesome!! We’re doing something for the JGC, and might be trying to start up the Social Justice Book Club again.
D. NAKED – We have a new treasurer…Ryan! (Gasp.)
E. ResLife –Our lovely brand-new rep is Kristina!!  We’re preparing for our NRAP weekend, November 2nd. We had a ResLife movie night on Sunday evening in the bottom floor of the J.
F. NRHH – Battle of the Brains is scheduled for October 27th at 1pm in the JGC. There’ll be little competitions and stuff until about 4pm-ish…like an Egg Drop. “Safe and Sexy Halloween” October 31st from 8-11pm is our Haunted JGC program. We will be having our induction banquet in the UC Banquet room, yay!
G. Creekview – We’re having a poster-making party. Allocated money to an LGA for a bbq/clean-up event. Looking at our budget for Haunted JGC, and working on getting prices for games for the Creekside Lounge. Activity brainstorming is in progress!
H. Canyon – no Canyon peeps were there.
I. Hill – Finally ratified our constitution! Our social has been moved to Oct. 26th. Planning our event for the Haunted JGC. We need a rep from ROBOT.
J. Cypress – Talked about Haunted JGC and picked a mascot-the Cypress Chupacabra!
K. Manor – We need another washing machine…and something needs to be done about our ant problem. (Sad day…)
L. AS – Ravin’s interested in being the AS rep.
M. (2) UC Board of Directors (n/v) – Porchee and Jannah have an orientation this Thursday with B. Nordstrom.
N. Alcohol and other Drug(n/v) – someone might be interested.
O. SHAC (n/v) – Hasn’t met.
P. Rec Center(n/v) – No rep.
Q. Dining Committee(n/v) – Ron didn’t tell us that he wouldn’t be there on Thursday, so we showed up and couldn’t do anything. Might try to reschedule for this week…?
R. Publicist (n/v) – Lynn: Made flyers for the VGC. Went to UPD to get my life scan, but failed because I forgot my ID. (Aww…)
Micaela: I still need to set up office hours. Trying to set up a new color scheme for WordPress website that fits HSU’s colors a bit better.
S. Advisor – Nick still wants to dye his hair black. Leticia applauds people on their work in the RHA office, which is consistently getting less cluttered. We’re having an exec board meeting at 4 on Friday. Her hair feels weird from new shampoo…and she keeps flipping it and playing with it…hm. Advisors have hair obsessions.
VIII. Old Business
A. Campaign to End Sexualized Violence-we approved the request last week.
IX. New Business
A. Alcohol and other Drug-we got an email from some anonymous person asking about the committee. We got an email about the Sexual Health Committee, too.
B. AS-who’s interested? Ravin is. She’s going to go find out what AS wants to get in terms of applications. We will then work on drafting the letter to AS saying we want Ravin as our rep.
C. Peta2-We received an email saying that were nominated for the “Veg-Friendly Colleges” contest. If you’re interested in what is going on with that or want to cast your vote for the school, you can go to peta2.com/college and check it out. Casting your vote puts you into a drawing for stuff like an iTunes gift card, PETA swag, or vegetarian foodstuffs. It will be mentioned in the next Royal Flush, too.
D. New Program?-Leticia and James discussed possibly trying to do another program, drawing other committees and councils together. One suggestion James had was to have an hour/hour and a half on Wednesday night of finals week where people could go down to the bottom of the J and make noise to relieve stress. Janine had an issue with doing this during finals week itself, as that may not necessarily help relieve anything and would be another thing we have to do in addition to our final exams. Jannah also reminded that we would have to make an exception for it in the 24-hour-quiet hour policy, which generally starts at 5p.m. the Friday before finals week. To add another idea for a program, Jannah said that doing some kind of food-related, “easy make your own healthy snack” type thing would be cool. Janine, not wanting to dampen everything, retorted that money and finding a place to do it would be a problem. Ravin, on the other hand, suggested that some kind of “make your own granola” program would be cool. Nancy added that Adrienne had gotten an idea from a conference with NRHH on making different kinds of popcorn trail mix that was interesting.
The next idea contributed to the program brainstorm was volunteered by Nick, consisting of a holiday program bringing different ethnic holiday activities and traditions together, or a program associated with World AIDS Day on December 1st. Janine wanted to get a junk car and smash it, which Ravin said sounded like more of a ROBOT thing (too true…). The exec board will discuss it at our exec board meeting on Friday, but everyone feel free to keep the thoughts coming.
X. Announcements
Jannah – Come see Urinetown, this Thursday/Friday/Saturday night, Sunday afternoon or next week during the same time. Tickets are $8, and I helped do some of the costumes! Whee.
Janine – Come to RPB: the DJ who’s interested will be bringing a mix and some of his friends.
Lynn – ROBOT said they’re getting games; which ones? Ravin: Not entirely definite on all of them…some are actually being donated to us.
Porchee – This Friday, Oct. 26th, from 6a.m.-4p.m. is Connect with Homeless People event in town. It’s being held at the Christ Episcopalian Church(15th and H street). Come if you’d like to help out.
Jannah – Video Game Competition THIS SATURDAY, come in costume!
Nancy: Vote, or register to do so! Elections are coming up soon!
XI. Adjournment
James asked for a motion to adjourn. Ryan moved, Lynn seconded. 12 in favor, Porchee opposed (again), one abstention. Meeting adjourned at 6:57p.m.

V. General Forum
Nothin’.
VI. Executive Board Reports
A. President – Good…tired…
B. Vice President – Sick and tired. Drafting ideas(presentations, etc) for executive workshop. It will be for the exec board and councils.
C. Secretary – Dining committee this Thursday 11-noon at Ron’s office. Come of you have dining opinions. Secretaries, please email me at rha@humboldt.edu; only Cypress has done so thus far. I also found chips and requested the Ballad of Serenity on the radio last night while hanging out in the Depot.
D. Treasurer – Treasurers please email me your schedules to set up BoF, rha@humboldt.edu. Sent out an email, but don’t have addresses for Creekview or NAKED treasurers. As soon as those two groups get treasurers, please send me their names, email addresses, and available times.
E. NCC – We had a meeting for PACURH, but can’t really discuss it. Other than that, no report.
VII. Representatives and Committee Reports
A. RPB – Janine proxies. We had the “Score Some S’mores” program on Saturday. There were some issues going on with getting food from the J. Went pretty well, and there were some people who asked to do it again. We also approved giving $1000 to ROBOT.
B. ROBOT Ryan proxies. Talked about the money that we got from RPB and are planning on getting some new and refurbished consoles, listed the games people are interested on getting. Talked about the Haunted JGC program-we’re getting the Info Desk area. Also discussed the Video Game Competition(October 27th, 6:30 p.m., bottom of the J) in regards to prizes and talking to Rendezvous to use the free air hockey/pool/video game day that we are given once a semester. Vampires were against zombies in the side poll, and the vampires won until the Poobah added a ton of points to the zombie side.
C. ROCC/Diversity Advocate – Expressions of Oppression is happening November 7th. We’re building a wall, possibly having a speaker named Mana. There will be an art gallery and open mic time with food(fruit, veggies, cheese, crackers, juice). Discussed other new programs to possibly do-ROCC Lock? ROCC Walk(during black liberation month ending at the keynote speaker)? Also conversed about Randy Haverson’s comments on women.
D. NAKED – Planning some kind of future events, and are trying to get a listserv going. Looking for someone who can help put that together.
E. ResLife – Porchee proxies. Presenting the masturbation program at the NRAP conference. Planning some kind of reslife bonding event for the 21st of October in the bottom of the J-possibly a movie night?
F. NRHH – Didn’t meet last week because dentists cause pain. Academic marathon scheduled for October 20th from 1-4pm in the JGC(POST-NOTE: has been postponed for a week…so will be on the 27th instead.) Go look at our pretty NRHH poster and the board on the third floor of the J. We now have open meetings so come on over and scope us out Monday nights at 8p.m. Also, if any councils are doing events for Dialogue on Race, please send your event information to nrhh@humboldt.edu so we can put it in a PACURH bid.
G. Creekview – Ian’s here! Hi, Ian. Interested on making a room into a lounge-area thing for Haunted JGC. Looking into getting a book/magazine rack for the Creekside Lounge so people can donate books they don’t want and possibly find good ones others have left.
H. Canyon – Didn’t meet, went to Randy Haveson’s presentation.
I. Hill – Went to see Randy Haveson instead of meeting last week. The constitution still needs to be ratified. A social for the Hill is coming up on the 19th, and no emergency meetings were called.
J. Cypress – discussed Haunted JGC, sent Jordan(LGA) to RPB for $25 for a bonfire for his floor.
K. Manor – The bbq went great(and to my knowledge, the leftovers are still in the bottom of the J, hiding. Eeewwww….). the manor apparently is in dire need of a third washing machine, as there are currently only two that are supposed to take care of all 50 residents, and at least one is frequently broken. There’s an ant problem going on over there, too. Yes, maintenance reports have been put in, no they’re not gone yet.
L. AS – nothing.
M. (2) UC Board of Directors (n/v) – met on Thursday. It was only 45 minutes long, yay! We have an orientation with Burt Nordstrom on the 21st.
N. Alcohol and other Drug(n/v) – hasn’t met yet.
O. SHAC (n/v) – hasn’t met yet.
P. Rec Center(n/v) – hasn’t met.
Q. Dining Committee(n/v) – meeting this Thursday, 11-noon in Ron’s office! Come say hi, we’re not stiff and awkward…in fact, we’re quite amusing.
R. Publicist (n/v) – Lynn is making flyers for the VGC and working on publicity for “Sleeping with the Family”. One poster for that is already up in the bottom of the J. Micaela: I don’t have anything to do yet…Ravin got me a wordpress account. Janine will give her stuff to do.
S. Advisor – Nick is part of a group that is looking into new special living areas. Jannah moved to put this into discussion, Nancy seconds(necessary?) Jannah says that a performing arts building/area would be AWESOME. MILC is apparently trying to be organized by Roxane, meeting on Tuesdays at 8pm(might be helpful with that?) Nancy suggests that a 21 and up area be moved to the Manor(Ryan: along with Native American Living, which is already there). Also, trying to dye hair black. Anyone have extra dye?(lol Nick, LOL.) Leticia: Hi…
VIII. Old Business
A. Campaign to End Sexualized Violence-Funding Request
$700 is being requested for t-shirts, which would be distributed as needed. Janine moves to put into discussion, Jannah seconds.
Janine: that’s a huge chunk of the budget, and Cypress is already coming to us, which means RPB is going to end up coming to RHA soon. Where are the shirts coming from-sweatshop, sweatshop-free, somewhere in town? Nick: I think somewhere in town. Janine: How many shirts would we be getting? 100 The number of shirts that we get would really change the price, if we adjusted it. Nancy: Is it more than just a shirt thing, is there an actual program/movement behind it? Nick: It’s more than just shirts.
Francisco: how much is left unallocated in our budget right now? Porchee: $4500. Nick: The group doing this is trying to raise $1400 total, and is approaching more than just us as a source. It wouldn’t decrease the number of shirts they are planning on getting, even if we decrease the amount that we give them. Nancy: Is that part of on-campus funds? Isn’t there a line item that goes to on-campus stuff, like “Cooperative Programming”? Porchee: Yes, but that’s usually used for things like Alternative Spring Break. That has $500 in it. Janine: How would we give the shirts away? Would they just sit in the RHA office and slowly disappear from Ryan taking them all, as he did with the pens? Lynn: brought up how last week there had been mention of associating it with Take Back the Night. Jannah: explained that I had mentioned that, possibly trying to push the shirt thing back until April for the TBTN thing. Janine: I wouldn’t feel opposed to decreasing the amount. Jannah suggests cutting the $700 in half($350). Nancy suggests $500, which Janine agrees to. Lynn moved to approve the adjusted amount, Francisco seconded. 12 in favor, three abstentions. $500 will be sent to the Campaign to End Sexualized Violence, which Nick will work with Porchee on carrying out.
B. Homecoming Tabling
Went alright. Small children are scary. We now have an empty box of stuff that used to be toys in the RHA office. Gave out a lot of pens, didn’t sell any Invisible Children dvds.
IX. New Business
Nothing.
X. Announcements
Nancy: take the satisfaction survey online. You can be put into a drawing for various cool things, like iPods or palm pilots or cameras or housing credit. The living area with the highest return rate will get an ice cream social.
Janine: if you want a room for the Haunted JGC, email rpb@humboldt.edu with your top 3 preferences. Klamath, Agate Beach, and the Desk are taken thus far. Satellite councils can do rooms too, but area councils will be given preference. Francisco asks if they can do bathrooms. No definite answer was given. This is a competition of who has the best room, by the way.
Nancy asked what was wrong with s’more stuff. Janine: the date was wrong somehow, either on our end or the J’s. ROCC, the Manor, RPB, and RHA have all had issues with getting their orders…can that be mentioned at dining committee? Which leads into Jannah saying “Come to Dining Committee!”

We need to contact Vincent about alcohol/other drug comm.
B. Budget hearing: Porchee: it’s from last week, LOL. The last budget was passed out.
IX. New Business
A. Campaign to End Sexualized Violence: Funding Request
from Nick-asking for students’ artwork for t-shirt designs. Kendall submitted artwork. The slogan is “No means no, silence means no… only yes means yes” Asking for $700. T-shirts we pay for would go to us for dispersal. Jannah moves to discuss, Francisco seconds. Janine: if we did put in money for this, we’d get how many shirts? Nick: 100 shirts. Francisco: are we selling these? Nick: no, we’d just be wearing them. Janine: how would we give them out? Nick: giving out randomly. Maybe do a program related to sexual violence and do shirts through that. Cypress(Emily?): there’s also the Sex outside the box program, so maybe talk to Dottie about that? J9: how much is left in unallocated? About 4000. Jannah: My concern is that this would be the third sex-related thing this year-first was the jeopardy last week, then we have the “sex outside the box” thing in November. We have the “Take Back the Night” thing in the Spring, this and that could go really well together. Nick: This isn’t so much about sex as it is violence, but point taken. Francisco moves to table the item to next week, Emily seconds. In favor: 10, no opposed, no abstentions. Item tabled.
B. Homecoming Tabling
Janine: can someone be there the whole game and keep an eye on the table from afar?
Lynn says she can, Jannah probably will as well.
Janine asks Lynn if she can make a poster for the table and make quarter-sheets to distribute in the 3rd floor. Can anyone help set up? We would be taking up pens, DVDs, possibly some tables. Meet at 5 on Saturday at the RHA office, we will email activities to find out exactly what time people need to be up at the field. Porchee, James, and Lynn volunteer to help set up.
X. Announcements
Janine: score some s’mores after the game on Saturday: “Cool down after the game and warm up by the fire.” (Mm, toasty.)
Nick: my ½ bday was on Friday.
Lynn is turning 18 next week, on the 16th. She went to costume shop and got her schedule set up there…we’re done with sewing patches on poor peoples’ clothes for Urinetown!
Leticia: went to Homo Expo this past weekend. Go if you haven’t. $8 w/HSU ID.
Jannah: Since I didn’t get a slot in the Reports this week, I’m putting my DC blurb here. Dining Committee(nomnomnom committee, as known by ROBOT) met last Thursday. Nancy, Sarah, and I had a talk for about an hour with Ron, the dining director guy. We will continue to meet the first and third Thursday of the month, from 11am to noon. We discussed some thoughts that Janine shared with Jannah about serving specific kinds of fish, their effects on the environment and ones that contain less mercury. We also talked about our relationship with local farmers, ways that they are trying to increase production to suit the needs of Dining here at HSU. Humboldt Creamery is also putting out some novelties, which we will be carrying shortly. Made some suggestions for certain foods to be carried at the cupboard, brought up the idea of having a napkin board that started to develop last year by Kenny, last year’s secretary. Nancy suggested some means of getting smaller portions at the J and not having to pay for a regular-sized meal, trying to get some desserts made with Splenda. Oktoberfest is coming, and the J will be working on some kind of lunch or dinner German-themed meal. There will be pumpkin-carving and costume contests for Halloween, as usual. A bbq is in the works to happen on Saturday before the game in the UC Quad. Got some opinions on the strawberry shortcake that was served in the J a little while back; people apparently loved it. There might be a new room opening up in the cupboard that was previously not really noticed…stay tuned, and come to Dining Committee!! 
Porchee: this week is Indigenous Peoples week. Trying to get posters out.
XI. Adjournment
Lynn moves to adjourn, Francisco seconds. The meeting was adjourned at 7:01pm.

A program for Expressions of Oppression on November 7th is still in the works, and they are planning a Halloween History spotlight for their part of the Haunted JGC.
D. NAKED-met on Sunday at 6pm(which will be the permanent meeting time). Brainstormed about programs for the year.
