Highlights of this included Ian: “eating an $8 sandwich from the Depot(it was apparently almost 1.5 lbs…madness…)”, Janine: at a Dialogue on Race meeting, and James: on a plane/in an airport (So we assumed.).
VI. Executive Board Reports
A. President –came in at the end of the meeting, glad that he went to Seattle.
B. Vice-President-Good, mostly caught up with things, but still needs to send out the mass email to people. She keeps forgetting her notebook when she wants to start writing.
C. Secretary-I feel like really bad stuff…but I worked on the NRHH board(3rd floor of the J) a bit. You should go look at it…and keep looking, because there’ll be pictures up soon too.
Also, have all your secretary people email me(Jannah) at rha@humboldt.edu with the subject “SECRETARY.” I want to start getting Board of Archives(BoA) together…and if you don’t like the food in the J or want to do something special related to that area, please email the same address for being a part of Dining Committee.
D. Treasurer- Updated budget and brought new copies. Please have your treasurers email Porchee at rha@humboldt.edu so we can get Board of Finances(BoF) started.
E. NCC- Today at 7pm is the deadline for PACURH. See Nicole if you’re interested. The
application packets will be emailed out tomorrow.
VII. Representative & Committee Reports
A. RPB- no rep…but Porchee’s the secretary there now. Congrats.
B. ROBOT-put on a slideshow of stuff from last year, worked on the VGC(Video Game Competition…coming right before Halloween.). We also voted on video games…so be expecting stuff like Halo III, Super Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, the original Mario Bros., Guitar Hero, and more.
C. ROCC♥(<-1/4 sheet received ^^)-Is working on a Humboldt Fashion Show Oct.3rd, 1pm, in Goodwin Forum. There will also be a program for Dia de la Raza on October 12th from 6-8pm in the bottom of the J. For the homecoming football game table, ROCC agreed that taking donations for the Invisible Children dvds would be fine. A program for Expressions of Oppression on November 7th is still in the works, and they are planning a Halloween History spotlight for their part of the Haunted JGC.
D. NAKED-met on Sunday at 6pm(which will be the permanent meeting time). Brainstormed about programs for the year. One of which is the NAKED Milers/Swimmers, which will be a running/walking group led by Ryan and a swimming group led by Janine in which people can run/swim at their own paces. A movie night was also discussed, with films like “I Am Sam” and “Requiem for a Dream.” Janine is trying to get in contact with the author of Kind of a Funny Story and the person who put the Post Secret book/site together(Warren).
E. ResLife-working on recognition this month, as well as a Halloween movie night.
F. NRHH -scheduled a semester event, talked about committees, will be voting on Of The Month(OTM) awards tonight based off of the nominations we received. Meetings are now OPEN(come one, come all), so drop in and see what happens in NRHH on Monday nights at 8pm.
G. Creekview-apparently changed their meeting time to be on Tuesdays…still don’t have a rep, though.
H. Canyon-Ian, the prez, was there. No rep, though. Planning a barbeque, but no dates yet. Approved a Tea Party program for Maple, which will be open to Canyon residents.
I. Hill♣-Working on ratifying their constitution. They will be putting on a barbeque/pizza party for Hill members to get acquainted with each other. Food, music, socializing.
J. Cypress♠-Discussed “Sex outside the Box” program that LGA Dottie is planning. Trying to lower the amount being asked to put it on. Will be voted on 10/2 at Cypress Council. A brief background of last year’s “Sex/Sexland” programs was given at this time, as well, for residents who are new.
K. Manor- Hawaiian Bbq on October 14th, rain or shine.
L. AS-nada.
M. UC Board of Directors-There will be a meeting October 11th. Porchee got a cool binder/manual for it. Huzzah.
N. Alcohol and other drug-nothing.
O. SHAC-nothing.
P. Rec Center-ditto.
Q. Publicist-held interviews on Friday…results will be coming soon!
R. Advisor-Leticia got to go see the 49ers get their butts kicked by the Washingtonians(W00T!), she watched people eat hot dogs while sitting 9 rows away from the field. There were Mexican folklorico dancers, and it was awesome. Talk to her if you’re planning on buying stuff(ie ROBOT planning on purchasing more video games).
VIII. Old Business
A. Welcoming Event—Sex and Drugs Jeopardy Oct. 4
BATTLE OF THE SEXES-it’s on, a dude vs dudette competition reminiscent of both Jeopardy! and Family Feud. Special guests for the evening will be 10 pizzas and 4 cookie trays(nom nom nom.) Leticia suggests to make a slide advertising for this that can be put into the slideshow in the 3rd floor of the J. The event was written as starting at 6:30, but it’s actually starting at 7pm and going until 8pm in the bottom floor of the J. Please show up at 6 if you’re interested in helping out(moving chairs, etc.). There is a meeting for it tomorrow(/today, Tuesday 10/2) at 4:30 in the sunset classroom.
B. Homecoming event sign ups- a signup sheet was passed around for RHA people, and alternate sheets for other council were handed out to their reps. We would like to have 2 people per council at any time at the table, and the slots are only for 20 minutes each. Pleeeease sign up.
IX. New Business
A. Appointing Representatives-Janine didn’t email yet. It’ll get sent out tonight or tomorrow.
B. Budget hearing-there is now more money in the unallocated slot, thanks to a few recalculations.
X. Announcements
-Go to Sex and Drugs Jeopardy! on October 4th. There’ll be food, so come hungry. Nick has put this on a couple times before, and guys have NEVER won. See if you can prove him wrong.
-The Pride parade was fun, even though there was a slight drizzle. Almost all the RLCs were there, except for ones who were off in places like San Francisco. The playground in town is apparently thoroughly entertaining.
-Jannah: Fill out your quarter sheets and give them to me, pretty please.
XI. Adjournment
Nancy moved to adjourn, Jannah seconds. Meeting adjourned at 6:51.
