Young Writers Academy 2008
Redwood Writing Project teachers believe that students learn to
write in a supportive environment while writing for real purposes to real
audiences. In the RWP Young Writers Academy, participants will explore a variety of
styles, become more confident as writers, and improve their own writing by
examining the work of other writers.

What is the Young
Writers Academy?
A 5-, 10-, 15-
or 20-day summer experience to inspire creative thinking and writing
Who
should attend?
Students of any writing ability who will be in grades 4-9 in Fall 2008
Where will camp be held?
On the HSU campus
When will camp be held?
Mondays-Fridays,
9:00-12:00
Is each session the same?
Yes and no. Each day will follow the same schedule, but each week
focuses on a different special topic:

What is the cost?
When are registration fees due?
Registration may be submitted in
full with the
application.
Those who prefer to make a $25 deposit must pay the balance on the first day of
the first session attended (please make checks payable to the Redwood Writing
Project or RWP). Priority consideration will be given to
applications received by June 13, but applications received after this initial
deadline will be accepted on a space-available basis.

To Register:
Return the completed
application, a
letter explaining why you are applying to the Academy and the kind of writing
you want to explore, and a $25 deposit (or the entire amount, made payable to
the Redwood Writing Project or RWP) to:
