There will be additional lab activities (e.g., videos, live animal observations, demonstration dissections) that pertain to each lab's topic but are not on the schedule. I reserve the right to assign additional reading for lecture, but don't anticipate doing so unless something interesting comes up in the professional or popular press.
To every lab, bring your Zoology Lab Guide (by Brueske and Marks), A Guide to Biology Lab (by Rust), lab notebook (containing extra writing and drawing paper), leaded and colored pencils, and an eraser. For labs involving dissection, bring your dissection tools, rubber gloves, and a shirt or lab coat you don't mind getting dirty. The Zoology Lab Guide will tell you if there are additional books you need to bring for a particular lab, such as The Pictorial Anatomy of the Fetal Pig (by Gilbert) or Integrated Principles of Zoology (by Hickman et al.).
