Eligibility
Students must demonstrate financial need by means of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The minimum qualifications to be selected as an SLSP Scholar are:
- Status of US citizen or national, refugee alien, or permanent resident alien when applying.
- Students must be admitted in good standing and enrolled full time to Humboldt State University and declare a major in CS, ERE and Math. The admission standard for HSU is a combination of GPA and test scores.
- Students must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- Students must demonstrate through a written essay genuine interest and motivation to succeed in CS, ERE or Math.
- Students must demonstrate through the testimony of one reference that they have the academic potential to complete a major in CS, ERE and Math.
- Students must demonstrate financial need.
Keeping the Scholarship
Scholarship recipients will be awarded the scholarship in subsequent years if they make academic progress in one of the three majors and maintain a strong GPA.
