Imagine working to halt gang violence in southern California, helping hurricane victims in Florida recover their homes, or helping potential first generation college students apply to and succeed in college. Faculty, alumni and students from Humboldt State’s Sociology Department are currently doing all this and much more. As a graduate of our program, you’ll possess the skills you need to address the most important social challenges of our time.

Student Experience & Research

Sociology students at Humboldt State have access to a variety of hands-on learning and research experiences. While most universities save these opportunities for grad students, our students are working along side their professors from the undergraduate level.
