The Sociology Student Association (SSA) is an organization of Sociology undergraduate and graduate students who work together to plan film series, service projects and social events that provide an opportunity for the students to get to know each other and faculty in a more informal atmosphere.

In December 2003 students help wrap presents for local institutionalized kids.

In January 2004 the association organized "Bowling with Sociologists."

In Spring 2004 the SSA continued its coalition with the Apology and Reconciliation Committee. The SSA is always involved with organizing graduation celebrations for our outgoing seniors and master's students.

  • Bowling for Columbine, Fall 2003 with Professor Meisel
  • Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Fall 2002 with Professor Virnoche and Jessie Colbert Master's Candidate
  • American Beauty, Fall 2002 with Professor Bowker
  • The Matrix, Fall 2001 with Professor Virnoche

If you would like to be involved, please contact Dr. Virnoche, the current advisor for SSA.
