Nature For the Very Young

Nature for 2’s and 3’s

Share time with your toddler while you have fun learning about nature. Our specially-designed curricula and materials are perfect for the youngest naturalists. As always, our program emphasizes experiential learning with "hands-on" as a major teaching tool. Meet small animals, put together crafts, sing songs and use your senses to find out about the natural world.

For an optimum experience with your toddler, and for the group, please do not bring older or younger siblings.

Hang on to your antennae! We’re going to be busy as bees as we forage for nectar, dance the waggle dance and act out the roles of bees in a hive. Take a look into our live bee hive and see the queen bee and her hard working daughters. You’ll get a chance to try on a real bee keeper’s hat. Use bees’ wax to make a candle you can keep.

Animals in Winter

Thursday, December 18

Ages 2 - 3 w/parent

Where do animals go when the weather gets chilly? Come find out in this class about creatures and how they live when the winter comes. Pretend you’re a turtle hibernating under a log, or act like a bear getting ready for a long winter’s nap. You’ll make a pop-up book of snugly places for wintering animals.
