Parent Participation

The HSU Children's Center is a parent participation program. We believe that it is essential for the education of children that home and school work together. Through this participation children see their parents actually working with their school and parents and staff work together to support mutual goals.Participation requirements are 9 hours per semester per family (6 hrs during the summer). A wide variety of tasks are available to meet this including actual participation in the child's classroom, playground construction projects, jobs that can be done at home, attendance at monthly Parent Advisory Board meetings, assisting with fundraising activities, etc.

Parent Activities

In addition, all parents are encouraged to attend and participate in monthly Parent Advisory Board meetings. This elected parent forum is responsible for reviewing center policy. Each semester a fundraising activity is planned and every family is asked to participate. The money raised provides supplies and equipment to enrich the children's education.
