Parking Regulations

Permit Parking Only Sign

Parking where you desire may be difficult at times. Please plan ahead and allow sufficient time to locate a stall and walk from where you park. Parking is on a "first come, first serve" basis. The possession of a parking permit does not guarantee that a space will be available. Most of the areas on campus where vehicles may legally be parked are designated by posted signs as to the type of permit required. All HSU permits are valid in areas not designated by a sign. Vehicles must be completely contained in a marked stall, except on unmarked streets. Not finding a legal parking space is not an excuse for being illegally parked.

Regulated Parking Hours

All regulations are in effect 24 hours a day, every day of the year. This includes the following restricted zones which are enforced AT ALL TIMES:

black & white stripesBLACK & WHITE: Service Vehicles.

blueBLUE: Disabled persons with disabled plates or placard.

yellowYELLOW: Loading/unloading, up to marked time limit.

whiteWHITE: Passenger loading or mail drop.

Exceptions

Parking meters and permit requirements are in effect 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday year-round, regardless of school being in session or not.

Resident Student Lots

A Resident Student permit is required at all times except Friday after 5 p.m., or all day Saturday and Sunday.
