Award Criteria

The Awards Committee will consider the following applicable criteria when making their selections:

Nominee must be a student in good standing (2.0 cumulative GPA/2.0 GPA most recent semester); Award for Excellence in an Academic Discipline: 3.5 GPA
Volunteer versus paid positions: less emphasis will be placed on paid positions except when superior performance can be demonstrated
Accomplishments attained while the nominee was a student at HSU will be given priority; some achievements at prior institutions may be considered for transfer students.
Evidence of direct involvement
Level of commitment over a sustained period of time
Demonstrable and/or significant contributions
Inspiration to others
Innovation and creativity
Effectiveness
Enhanced and/or advanced the
