How to Nominate

Nominations Must Include:

  1. Nominee Information Cover Sheet completed by the nominator
  2. Nominee Personal Information completed by the student in resume or letter form. See Nominee Information Cover Sheet for directions.
  3. Letter of support from the nominator describing the nominee’s achievements.
  4. For nominations for an Award for Academic Excellence and Achievement, submit appropriate materials for the committee’s review (i.e. posters, reports, etc. which can help the committee understand the student’s accomplishments).

An individual may nominate only ONE student in each award category, except for the academic awards. An individual may nominate one student from each of the three academic Colleges for the “Award for Excellence in an Academic Discipline” category and one student or team for each of the categories under “Awards for Academic Excellence and Achievement.” A student, whose achievements clearly fit an award category other than that in which he or she was nominated, may be considered for a second category at the discretion of the Committee.

Complete nomination packets should be emailed together to studentawards@humboldt.edu or submitted to the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, Nelson Hall East room 216, to the attention of the Outstanding Student Awards Committee.

The deadline for receipt of nomination materials is 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Late nominations cannot be accepted. All awards will be presented at Humboldt’s annual student recognition ceremony on Thursday, April 30, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm in the Kate Buchanan Room.
