The two-year, Full-Time program curriculum plan is constructed with a foundation year curriculum of 27 semester units and an advanced year of 30 semester units. Content areas are integrated and develop greater specificity, breadth and depth over the two years. Students are expected to enter with preparation in the liberal arts as the curriculum is grounded and developed from a liberal arts foundation.
The Advanced Standing program is designed for students who graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited college or university. After completing two Summer courses, students join the advanced year curriculum.
Full-Time & Advanced Standing Course Plan
A Part-time program is also available. Students in the Part-Time program complete the same course of study as Full-Time students. The faculty have approved a model for a part-time program to address concerns related to resources and student feedback (see below). The faculty continue to look at delivery methods and have narrowed the choice to two models. Model A would hold classes at the HSU campus at the same time as full-time classes (in the eventing) and beam them to remote locations. Model B would be a weekend model that would likely require travel to the campus five weekends a semester. We are looking at the funding strategies related to both options and hope to have a decision articulated shortly.
