My main interests (outside of mathematics) all involve enjoying life on the redwood coast with my family.
 
In days gone past, I used to love to see, and photograph the  Grateful Dead .  These pics are from the Shoreline sometime in the early '90s (exact details are fuzzy).

I am very enthusiastic about the LiNuX  operating system.  I am currently running Fedora Core 4 on a  HP Pavilion zd800.  If you are considering running LiNuX on a laptop, you must check out the LiNuX on Laptops page.  Here is my contribution (for FC4).  Here is a revised page for FC5.

As far as sports go, I love to ski and play ice hockey.  I used to skate (in graduate school) in Vacaville, CA with the one time  "B''-league champions: The Larson Team.   Here is our Fall 2000 championship photo!
