Jayson Mohatt (technical director)

Jayson began his career in theatre by helping to build sets for plays in high school. While an undergraduate in psychology at Kansas State University he took every offered technical theatre course, helped build the sets for numerous productions and was a member of the theatre honor society Theta Alpha Phi. Jayson completed his MFA coursework at HSU in 1990 and worked for CenterArts as their Technical Director from 1990 to 2005. He also worked for CSU's Summer Arts Programs for several years in the early '90's. He has designed lights and/or designed and built sets with Humboldt Light Opera Company since 1989, and has also worked with D'ell Arte, New World Youth Ballet, North Coast Repertory and Redwood Curtain Theaters. In his free time Jayson enjoys sailing, horseback riding, enjoying Humboldt County 's great outdoors and spending time with his family, which includes wife Star, and sons Josh, 19, and Max, almost 2.
