| Frequently Asked Questions |
|
Below are answers to questions you may have regarding ticket purchases
at the University Ticket Office. If you do not find the answer to
your question here, please feel free to contact us by calling us at 707.826.3928
or emailing us at ticket@humboldt.edu.
|
| I'm trying
to purchase tickets online for an upcoming performance. Will I receive
better seating options if I call the Ticket Office directly to order my
tickets? |
All ticket sales, regardless of how you purchase
your tickets, occur real-time. This means that the tickets
offered for sale online are the exact same as those available to us
in the Ticket Office. What you see online at the time of purchase
is what is currently available for sale.
|
| Is there a
fee for purchasing my tickets online? |
A $3.00/ticket convenience
fee will be assessed for all tickets purchased online. You may avoid
incurring this fee by purchasing your tickets in person at the Ticket
Office or at a local ticket outlet. Please click here
for more information.
|
| I can't attend
a performance for which I have purchased tickets. Can I return them and
get a refund? |
While all tickets are non-refundable, you may exchange your tickets
for a different event in the current season. Some restrictions
do apply. Please view our Exchange
Policy for more information.
In the event of a cancelled show, you will have the option of receiving
an exchange for another performance or a refund.
|
| How can I get Front Row,
Center, Main Floor seats? |
While there are no guarantees, your best bet is to
subscribe and order early! As you may know, renewing Subscribers have
priority over new Subscribers. The order in which your CenterArts
order is filled is dependent upon how many consecutive years one subscribes
to CenterArts. The longer you subscribe, the better you chance
to get "prime seats."
For more information on becoming a Subscriber, please click here.
|
| I was hoping for
better seating than what is currently available. Is there anything
I can do to improve my seating? |
The Ticket Office maintains a Waiting List for most
CenterArts performances. To list yourself for an upgrade, please
contact the Ticket Office at 707.826.3928. This service is provided
at no charge to you.
Since season Subscribers are allowed to return their tickets for credit,
we often receive great seats back a couple of days prior to the performance.
|
| The performance
I wanted to attend is SOLD OUT. Is there anything I can do to get
tickets for that performance? |
Though there are no guarantees, you may want to be
listed on the Waiting List to purchase tickets as they become available.
You may do so by calling the Ticket Office at 707.826.3928.
Also, it is possible that if you visit us at the Box Office on the night
of the performance, a few tickets might become available at that time.
Sometimes, the artist or other complimentary ticket holders may release
their tickets at the last minute. Perhaps a subscriber has exchanged
his or her tickets for another performance, thus opening up a seat.
|
| What time will the
Box Office open prior to an event? When do the doors open for an
event? |
The Box Office will open an hour prior to each performance
at each designated venue.
Typically, the doors will open half an hour prior to each event.
|
| How early should
I arrive to an event? |
We recommend that you arrive 15-30 minutes prior to
your scheduled event. This will allow you enough time to find parking
on campus and settle comfortably into your seats.
As parking on campus can sometimes be an issue, please make appropriate
arrangements so that you won't miss a minute of the performance.
|
| What happens if I arrive
late to a performance? |
Please plan to arrive at least 15- 30 minutes prior
to show time. In consideration of the performers and other patrons,
latecomers will only be seated at intermission or at appropriate breaks
during the performance. In some cases, latecomers will only be
seated in the balcony.
Performance times and locations may vary, so please check your tickets
carefully.
|
| Speaking of parking,
will I need to have a parking permit to park on campus? |
Parking is free at HSU on Friday nights after 5 p.m. and all
day Saturdays and Sundays. For your convenience, you can purchase daily
parking permits for $2.00 in advance for performances which occur Monday
through Thursdays.
If there is any doubt about whether or not you will need to purchase
a permit, please call us at 707.826.3928.
|
| Do you have any
discounts for Students? Seniors? Children? |
Discounts will vary from event to event. Generally,
discounts will be extended toward HSU Students, seniors over 60, and
children under 18.
|
| Why do you need
to see my validated HSU ID for my student discount? |
Because HSU students receive the biggest discounts for most events,
we will need to see proof of enrollment. Checking your HSU ID
is the easiest way for us to actually verify eligibility. All
student IDs must be validated with the current semester's sticker.
If you forget your ID, we will have to ask you to visit the Box Office
window before you take your seat and change your ticket to full price.
We would hate for you to miss a single moment of the performance, so
please, before you head for the performance, remember to bring your
HSU ID along with you.
|
| I'm a student at
another college or university. Why don't I receive a discount for
my tickets? |
HSU students pay student activity fees to the university
which help to subsidize many on-campus events. It is for this
reason that HSU students receive a discount toward their ticket purchases.
|
| Can I bring children
to events? Do I have to pay for them? |
We love children, but all patrons, regardless of age,
will need a ticket to attend our performances. In consideration
of others, if your child cannot sit quietly for extended periods of
time, please make other arrangements. Some performance may be
inappropriate for children, so if there is any doubt, please contact
us at 707.826.3928 for clarification.
|
| I am planning on
bringing a large group to an event. Who would I contact to arrange
a group rate? |
Special group rates are usually available for groups larger than
20 and are subject to approval. Please contact the Ticket Office
at 707.826.3928 to make appropriate arrangements.
|
| Where is the Lost
& Found located? |
All recovered items will be taken to the University
Police Department on the first floor of the Student Business Services
Building on the day following each event.
