WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT DEDICATES ROOM
On the evening of January 30, 2002, President
McCrone, along with faculty, staff, students and
friends dedicated the Wildlife Preservatory and Animal
Display Room, WFB 238, to Dr. Stan “Doc” Harris and his wife Lorie, for their
past (since 1958) and ongoing contributions to the Wildlife Department here at
Humboldt State. Doc and Lorie are solely responsible for all of the bird
displays within the Wildlife & Fisheries
Building. Among his many talents,
Doc is also the compiler for the local Annual Christmas Bird Count sponsored by
the Audubon Society. He has provided this service for many years as a
volunteer. In August 2001, Doc assisted in obtaining a $250,000 mammal specimen
collection. Doc continues to assist the Wildlife Department with classes and
field trips. Thanks for all your help Doc!
