June 2009: Congratulations to former undergraduate researcher turned genomics whiz Mitch Hart for landing a great job at Applied Biosystems!

May 2009: Congratulations to graduate student Sean Reilly for finishing his masters degree and being accepted into the Ph.D. program in Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley! Sean will begin his doctoral studies this fall working in Dr. Jim McGuire's lab at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology.

May 2009: Graduate student Andrew Gottscho will soon be heading to Indonesia on an expedition to assist Dr. Jim McGuire of UC Berkeley with his research of the Indonesian herpetofauna. Good luck Andy!

May 2009: Congratulations to undergraduate student Michael Henkin for graduating this year! Michael will be spending his summer working on the molecular biology of snake venom with Dr. Stephen Mackessy at Northern Colorado University.

November 2008: Graduate student Andrew Gottscho presented a poster on his Uma scoparia research at the First California Desert Research Symposium at the University of Redlands, California.

October 2008: Graduate student Sean Reilly has been selected to attend the NSF-funded AmphibiaTree workshop titled "Predictive Species Distribution Modeling Using Tree Data" held at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, UC Berkeley in December.

August 2008: The Jennings Lab was awarded a grant from the U.S. Army at Fort Irwin National Training Center to study the landscape genetics of the Mojave fringe-toed lizard.

July 2008: Graduate students Andrew Gottscho and Sean Reilly presented their preliminary thesis results at the Joint Meeting of Herpetologists and Ichthyologists in Montreal, Canada.

May 2008: Graduate students Sean Reilly and Andrew Gottscho have received HSU Master's Student Grants from the Department of Biological Sciences at Humboldt State University.

April 2008: Graduate student Andrew Gottscho has been awarded the McCrone Graduate Student Fellowship at Humboldt State University. Click here to see a photo from the awards ceremony.

January 2008: Graduate student Sean Reilly was awarded a grant from the Save-the-Redwoods League to study the population genetics of the Black Salamander, Aneides flavipunctatus.

January 2008: Graduate student Andrew Gottscho has been awarded the California Desert Research Fund from the Community Foundation, as well as the Joshua Tree National Park Graduate Student Grant.
