What is WUE?
WUE is a state exchange program with participants from Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Students are able to attend participating public colleges or universities in the selected states at a significantly reduced cost.
How do I apply?
You will automatically receive the WUE award upon admission to HSU.
How much is it?
The 2007/08 costs for a WUE student will be $5,229 for tuition and fees.
Can I claim residency after studying at HSU for one year while on the WUE program?
Sorry, you will not be able to claim California residency while participating in the WUE program. To be considered for residency, you will have to stop participating in the WUE program for a minimum of one year.
What are the WUE admission requirements?
Out-of-state admission requirements will be used to determine admission to HSU with the WUE discount.
Which programs will be open for WUE participants?
All academic programs are open to WUE participants with the exception of pre-nursing and nursing.
What is the deadline to apply to HSU and still be eligible for the WUE discount?
Applications for Fall admission are available October 1. The priority application deadline is November 30.
Are both freshmen and transfer students eligible for the program?
Yes. The program is not available to students already holding a bachelor's degree.
What conditions for enrollment will be required for WUE participants?
You must remain in good academic standing as stated in the university catalog. If you leave HSU and subsequently reapply, you must apply from a WUE state to rejoin the WUE program.
Is there a limit on the number of years a student can receive the WUE discount?
There is no time limit on participating in the WUE program.
