The holiday spirit was strong this year as five student teams took over the library lobby for a competition to build the most amazing snow-person using canned food. They also inspired plenty of food donations to the Oh SNAP! campus food pantry and helped raise awareness about the program.
This was a serious competition. Teams competed not just for glory, but for a small holiday bonus to give to a campus organization. The campus community was able to vote for the winner by stuffing the ballot boxes with canned food.
In the end, team Athletics was declared the winner!
Thank you to all the teams that competed—Associated Students, Athletics, Residence Hall Association, School Psychology Club, and WRRAP. Thank you also to Forever Humboldt—the association of alumni and others who are connected to HSU—for an initial donation of 2,000+ cans.
