Normally, equipment is checked out for a 24-hour period; if you need it for longer, please let Classroom Technology Services know in advance so they can make sure it will be available. Equipment checked out after 3:00pm on a Friday need not be returned until 8:00am on Monday.

Yes. If you're using the equipment for instructional purposes, Classroom Technology Services will provide free training and orientation, and will help you with configuration for use in an instructional setting. Call them at (707) 826-3166 for more information. If you're renting the equipment for an event on campus, setup assistance is available at $15 per hour for student-level support and $30 per hour for professional-grade support. Set-up for off-campus events is charged at $50 for events in the Arcata area and $75 outside Arcata.

You can't borrow equipment for non-instructional use, but you can rent it for a very reasonable fee (although you should bear in mind that instructional use always has priority, so the equipment you want may not be available - make sure you have a Plan B in place if you can't get what you need from HSU resources). There is also a delivery and setup fee, the size of which depends on where your event is taking place. Any equipment you rent from HSU is your responsibility during the rental period, and you will be required to sign a legally-binding agreement making you financially responsible for the replacement or repair of any equipment damaged during the rental period.

If you need to use classroom technology equipment to fulfill course requirements, yes. You'll need to complete the Equipment Use Proxy form and have it signed off by your faculty adviser. Bring the form to Room 221 in Gist Hall to arrange to check the equipment out.

That depends on whether you're looking for equipment for instructional use or for event rental. Instructional use requests always have priority over event rental requests, so bear in mind that your choices may be limited for events, depending on the demands on inventory at any given time.
