Antivirus

Antivirus software protects computers and mobile devices from being infected by viruses, spyware, worms, Trojans, and a long list of other malware that can damage data or facilitate identity theft and other forms of cybercrime. To protect the information stored on Humboldt networks (and every other computer connected to those networks), the university requires that every device connecting to the campus networks must have up-to-date virus protection installed. If the protection on a device is not up-to-date, it will not be permitted to connect to the network.

All Humboldt-owned computers are equipped and kept up to date with Microsoft Endpoint Security (Windows) or ESET (Macintosh). Check with the Help Desk at x4357 if you believe you are running up-to-date antivirus software and still have a problem connecting to the networks.
