All students, faculty, and staff at HSU are provided with a humboldt.edu email address for all official university communications.

We use Google GMail as our email provider; because it's a web-based service, Gmail lets you access your HSU email from anywhere, as long as an Internet connection is available. You may also choose to access Gmail through a local client such as Outlook or Mac Mail. Gmail is part of a broader online environment, Google Apps, that also provides calendaring, applications, groups, and other useful applications, including the ubiquitous Google search engine.

Access your HSU Gmail account through myHumboldt with your HSU User Name and Password.

To use Gmail on the web (webmail)

To use Gmail with an HSU-supported local email client, click the appropriate link below:

• Outlook
• Mac Mail
• Smartphones

You can also use Gmail with other IMAP and POP local email clients, but we don't recommend this approach as HSU does not support these implementations.

Google Updates

Google is a very dynamic environment, and the company frequently updates or otherwise tweaks many of its services in response to user feedback. You can keep tabs on Google's planned and implemented changes on their What's New? site.

To set up your webmail account, go to Account Center -> Personal information -> Electronic services (including email)

If you use a local email client, you will need to configure it to communicate with your Gmail account in order to send and receive humboldt.edu email.

To log into your humboldt.edu email on the web:

1. Go to http://humboldt.edu/myhumboldt
2. Enter your HSU User Name and Password
3. Click on the Gmail button at the top right of the screen

HSU email is available online from anywhere in the world - as long as there's an Internet connection - through the myHumboldt portal or at webmail.humboldt.edu.
