Three full-time post-graduate residency positions are available annually beginning in August of each year and ending in May. We are currently inviting applications for the 2012/13 academic year. Review of these applications will begin January 12, 2012. Please see below for application instructions.
The residency is for the academic year, with the usual academic breaks. Residents are responsible for providing: (a) short term individual, couples, and group therapy; (b) assessment and referral services; (c) crisis intervention and on-call services; (d) outreach programming; and (e) psychological consultation to the campus community. Residents also have involvement in training and mentorship of master’s level practicum students through Humboldt State University’s Counseling program. Residents receive both individual and group supervision commensurate with the requirements for licensure.
Counseling & Psychological Services offers practicum training opportunities to 2nd and 3rd year students in the Counseling and Social Work graduate programs at Humboldt State University. We accept up to four practicum students per semester. If interested in applying for this opportunity, please contact Eliot Altschul, Training Director at 707-826-3236.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is collecting applications for our part-time temporary applicant pool. Part-time temporary therapists will mainly be responsible for direct clinical service (individual and couples counseling, group psychotherapy, drop-in and crisis intervention). Depending on the needs of the center, as well as the expertise and interest of the successful hire, the position may entail clinical supervision of practicum students or postgraduate residents.
