Accreditation

Accreditation is a non-governmental, peer-reviewed means of ensuring that universities and departments provide high quality education that meets the standards of engineering community. The Environmental Resources Engineering Department at Humboldt State University is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET.

ABET Accreditation

In accordance with ABET requirements, the ERE department participates in an ongoing, four-step self evaluation process. In the context of this process, the department has:

  1. Developed educational objectives and outcomes that are consistent with the mission statement of the department.
  2. A process to periodically update and evaluate the objectives. The department faculty determine the objectives with input from the External Advisory Committee
  3. Conducted periodic assessments to determine if we have met the stated objectives,
  4. Utilized assessments to fine tuned the ERE curriculum ensuring that our graduates are able to meet the program's objectives.
