What is an Ombudsperson?
The Ombudsperson serves as a facilitator and a resource person. The primary aim of the Ombuds office is to promote a positive campus environment by helping to resolve problems through listening, providing information, making referrals to other campus resources and identifying options and alternatives.
Office operations are consistent with the code of ethics and standards of practice of the International Ombudsman Association.
Examples of situations brought to the Ombudsperson:
* Faculty/Staff conflict
* Campus Housing
* Fear of Retaliation
* Grade Appeal
* Judicial Affairs
