First Prize: $2000  |  Second Prize: $1000  |  Third Prize: $500

The BCMW staff will judge all works.

Winners’ works will be performed during the July 2012 Brass Chamber Music Workshop, held in Arcata, California. Amateur musicians in a workshop format will perform music.

Please include a complete score, a completed set of parts, a CD with a PDF of score and parts, and a recording. Recording may be a synthesized midi recording. Please put PDFs and recording on one disk if at all possible.

All entries should be received no later than February 1, 2012. Winning submissions will be notified by May 15, 2012.

In order to ensure anonymity, do NOT put your name on the score or on any of the parts. Put all contact information (name, address, phone, email) in a SEALED envelope with the TITLE of your composition on the outside of the envelope.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS: Please print all scores and parts double-sided, taking page turns into consideration. Scores should be reduced (not condensed) as they are used for coaching purposes and are not used for conducting. 75-80% is a good size. Coil or comb bind or tape scores and parts. Please do not submit loose pages. Do not email any materials; we do not have facilities for printing and/or binding works. Works not adhering to these guidelines will be disqualified.

A publishing contract may be offered to a number of entries, courtesy Cimarron Music Press.

For further information, please .

One copy of all submissions becomes the property of the BCMW, for use at the workshop and may be performed at a later date. Composer retains copyrights of all works submitted. One duplicated copy will be made for archival purposes.
