SPF Policy Changes
The Sponsored Programs Foundation Board of Directors approved two policy changes during the 2010-2011 Academic Year that affect P.I.'s The Indirect Rate Policy sets approved rates for Indirect Cost revenue and provides a process for negotiation when the Principal Investigator intends to use less than the funder published maximum allowed rate. The Excess Indirect Revenue Distribution Policy outlines how Indirect revenues are used and defines “excess” revenues. The Policy then provides for the distribution of the excess revenues at specified percentages.

The Humboldt State University Sponsored Programs Foundation. We want to help you be successful in furthering your scholarly and programmatic objectives. Our primary mission is to provide the Humboldt State University community with professional and accessible pre- and post-award grant and contract services. We administer virtually all externally-funded grants and contracts and submit proposals to external funding agencies on behalf of the University. Some of our grant and contract services are listed below:
- Assist faculty and staff in identifying funding sources
- Oversee institutional routing process for submitting proposals
- Establish project budgets
- Administer extramural projects
- Maintain a web-based financial reporting system for Principal Investigators
- Oversee project close out and final financial reporting to funding agencies
- Administer various campus small grant and incentives programs
