About Greg
Why did you choose this program?
At 40 years old I decided that I wanted music to be more than just a hobby career.
How did this program prepare you for your job?
The composition and theory I learned greatly enhanced my productivity and versatility. It helped me develop the ability to be productive on demand.
What did you enjoy most about the program?
I enjoyed small class sizes, professors who were available to help me, and access to excellent music department resources such as good music lab, computers, and good pianos.
What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?
There isn't always a job waiting for you at the end of a music degree. You may need to be entrepreneurial and learn business skills that aren't included in the music degree.
I have helped several of my students start bands and get gigs. Here's a video of my students and I playing at a state park event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yryHwSW13xo
