Applying for Aid

The Cal Poly Humboldt Financial Aid Office is committed to helping prospective and current students and their families understand the financial aid process, explore available resources, and make informed decisions about financing their education.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

To be considered for financial aid, students must complete the appropriate financial aid application for the academic year they plan to attend.

Students may apply using one of the following applications:

• Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): For students who qualify to apply for federal financial aid.
• California Dream Act Application (CADAA): For eligible students who meet the requirements to apply for state and institutional financial aid through the California Dream Act.

Choose the Correct Application Year

Financial aid applications are specific to an academic year. Because applications for multiple academic years may be available at the same time, students should select the application that corresponds to the period of enrollment for which they are seeking aid.

Visit the Federal Student Aid website to complete the FAFSA or the California Student Aid Commission website to complete the CADAA.

Application Deadlines

Priority filing dates and other financial aid deadlines vary by application year and by aid program. Students are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible and review the applicable deadlines to maximize consideration for available aid.

Important: Missing a priority filing date does not necessarily mean you are ineligible for all financial aid. Students should still complete the appropriate application and contact the Cal Poly Humboldt Financial Aid Office with questions about their eligibility and available options.
