Julia Mendoza
First Year Practicum Student
My name is Julia Mendoza. I earned my BA in Sociology with a minor in Applied Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, and moved up north to pursue my MA in Counseling here at Cal Poly Humboldt. I have professional experience working with substance use disorders through a trauma informed lens, as well as with foster youth involved in the juvenile justice system. I am passionate about queer and gender studies and aim to use this as a foundation in my practice, while also incorporating mindfulness, self-acceptance, and self-compassion.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, swimming, and walking with my dog at the marsh or in the forest!
